Thank you Ria Nelis for a super day at Blackpool Ch Sh where Trio won Postgraduate and Rhys won Open, the CC and was BOS. Special congratulations to Mat Oddie and his lovely bitch puppy going BPIB.
Well done all the other winners!
We were thrilled when Trio won a good Postgraduate class and and went on to gain his second RCC under Caroline Walkling at 3 Counties Ch Sh at Malvern handled by his breeder, Penny Westaway. Thanks to Pointerspice for the photo.
Trio travelled to the Emerald Isle and attended three shows in two days! He came home with two reserve Green Stars. He travelled with his Penwest relations and was shown by Penny and Helga. Despite one day of constant rainfall and a vehicle malfunction he maintained his usual affable character.
Trio had an eventful 2014 - he won a RCC at Three Counties, gained his Junior Warrant, qualified for and took part int the JW Competition at Earls Court, sired his first litter (photos of two of his daughters below), continued to win well at all levels. He also went BIS at Tongwynlais CS in September and is looking forward to taking part in the SWKA Open Shows Dog of the Year in March 2015.
Trio is a proud dad!
He sired his first litter out of Thorncross Drive On By (B/W) in November - 7 lovely puppies one of his daughters seen below..
However, he still hasn’t mastered the art of standing still - always being on the go - he finds it difficult to remain immobile at the crucial moment in the show-ring but demonstrates his paces well on the move.
He started off 2015 in his first Post Graduate class at Manchester which he won under Frank Whyte. At the SPC Event in February he came through all his rounds until the final, finishing as runner up. Photo above shows him handled by co-owner Gerald Philips. Trio is also co-owned by Penny Westaway (Penwest).

BEST IN SHOW went to the wonderful b/w Pointer PENWEST PALLATON JW owned by Ms B. Theobald and Phillips & Westaway. What an eye catcher, so well balanced and a real powerhouse on the move. Sporting a wonderful front assembly which gives him a lovely reach, and because he is so well balanced, his front movement is equalled by his fabulous rear drive. A dog of graceful curves and aristocratic bearing who screams 'Look at Me' and topped off with a quality head too! Displaying a kind and confident disposition. In this superb condition he could not be denied the top spot today, I absolutely loved him. Congratulations!
POINTERS (1) 1 Theobold, Phillips & Westaway's Penwest Pallaton, what a striking b/w dog he oozes breed type from his lovely chiselled head with soft brown eye & balanced proportions right down to the tip of his bee sting tail. He certainly fills the brief of a series of graceful curves with excellent angulation front & rear & when he moves it is power & elegance combined. BOB, G1 & delighted my co-judge awarded him BIS.
Amman Valley CS: POINTERS – G (3) 1 Theobald, Phillips & Westaway's Penwest Pallaton, lovely young dog with classic outline. Lovely head with dark eye & good muzzle to skull proportions. Nice length of neck into well laid shoulders, well sprung ribs with good depth of chest. Strong topline held well on the move. Sound free flowing movement. BOB & shortlisted for BIS. Judge - Juliua Thomas
Swansea: POINTERS – Open (3) 1 Theobald, Phillips & Westaway's Penwest Pallaton, what a fine young man. 2 years b/w dog. Typy head with dark eye, good length of neck flowing into well laid shoulders over deep ribs. Has a good length of upper arm that is missing in so many these days & it is this that gives him is lovely reach in his front movement. Deep chest through deep well muscled loin to good rear angles that he uses to get drive on the move. Well muscled & in good condition. I understand that congratulations are due as today he won the last points for his ShCM. BOB, G2. Judge- Ray McDonald
